Work with fellow volunteers to pack seeds for our 2025 Seed Library! Your contributions will help make FREE seeds available at all Library branches.
A seed packing group looks a lot like an assembly line. Everyone will have a dedicated job and work for 2-3 hours on a selected seed project. Tasks include:
- Measuring bulk seeds with scoops or counting by hand into small envelopes
- Stickering coin envelopes with informational labels about how to grow the enclosed seeds
- Sealing the envelopes with small stickers
- Bundling finished envelopes together to create a usable Seed Library inventory
What is Seed Library?
Our community Seed Library offers free seeds and education so that anyone can grow plants that sustain them. We also offer workshops to help you learn the skills you need to nurture a seed into a mature plant. Visit indypl.org/calendar to see our upcoming programs.
