Mill Creek Alliance

General Information:

Join Mill Creek Alliance for our monthly workparties! These workparties can consist of many different tasks including but not limited to invasive plant removal, trash pick-up, tree planting, and spreading native seed depending on the worksite and time of year.

What to wear: Wear weather appropriate clothing (layers are always a good idea). Long sleeves, long pants, and closed toed shoes are highly recommended to avoid cuts and scratches, sunburn, and possible exposure to poison ivy.

What to bring: Bring your own sunscreen, bug spray and reusable water bottle. Volunteers are welcome to bring any personal labeled tools/supplies or snacks, but Mill Creek Alliance will provide enough tools/supplies/snacks for all volunteers including safety glasses, gloves, loppers, etc.!

Upcoming Workparties:

March 28th - Camp Washington Mill Creek Greenway

Join the MCA A-Team and Xavier University students and alumni from 9:45AM-12:45PM for Xavier's Community Action Day! We will be removing honeysuckle and other invasive plant species, picking up trash, and spreading native seed.

Park along the pull-off near the upgradient trailhead.

March 29th - Evendale Commons

Join the MCA A-Team and members of Shomrei Olam (Jewish Environmental Advocates of Cincinnati) from 1PM-4PM for a workparty planting trees at Evendale Commons in honor of Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish “New Year for Trees”. This holiday originated as an agricultural festival marking the start of spring, and now celebrates nature, tree planting, and environmentalism.

Park in the Fifth Third Bank Parking Lot.

April 4th - Salway Park

Join the MCA A-Team from 10AM-1PM for a workparty removing invasives such as honeysuckle along the streambank of northern Salway Park. Along with invasive plant removal, we will also pick up trash, plant trees, and spread native seed!

May 2nd - Yellow Bridge

Join the MCA A-Team from 10AM-1PM for a workparty to clean up this site ahead of the Canoes & Conversations event in June. We will work to remove pesky invasive plants, pick up trash, and do other tasks to clean up the site and its trails.
