Volunteer Opportunities at Olivet Care

1:1 Volunteer Visits

If you enjoy conversation or a short walk, our residents would love to meet you. We are always seeking committed volunteers to provide regular one-on-one visits.

Meaningful connection and community engagement are invaluable to our residents’ wellbeing.

Activity Volunteer

Activity volunteers can be involved in many and varying activities either independently or assisting the Leisure and Lifestyle team. Activities can vary from flower arranging, hairdressing, art, cooking, crafts, carpet bowls, active games, board and card games, and the list goes on.

Gardening, cleaning and maintaining courtyards.

Volunteering around the facility is highly valued and greatly appreciated. The time and effort contributed by our volunteers play an important role in helping Olivet maintain a welcoming and well-presented environment.

Volunteering opportunities may include tasks such as watering the gardens, cleaning our two on-site buses, washing windows, cleaning outdoor furniture, and assisting with keeping courtyards neat and tidy.

Special Events

Olivet hosts a wide range of special events throughout the year to bring a spirit of fun and joy to our residents. As a not-for-profit organisation, we also hold fundraising events to raise additional funds that help enhance our programs and resources.

These events require many hands-on deck to assist with set-up, delivery, and clean-up. Our volunteers are essential to the success of these events, and their support is greatly valued.

Christadelphian Church Activities

These Opportunities are for volunteers who belong to a Christadelphian Church.

Sunday Church Service (11am every Sunday)

Hymn Singing Groups (Varying days and times)

Bible Readings Group (Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons)

Ladies and Men's Devotionals (Wednesday afternoons)

Musicians

Music plays a vital role in enhancing our residents’ physical, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing. We welcome musicians who would like to contribute by performing at events, leading group hymn or praise sessions, or hosting small concerts.

Cafe Assistant

Olivet has a fully equipped on-site café that is highly valued by residents, staff, and visitors. We offer opportunities for volunteers to work alongside our café staff, assisting with tasks such as waiting tables, washing dishes, and general tidying.

Olivet is also introducing a new community initiative: an off-site memory support café for families and carers supporting a loved one living with dementia. We are seeking volunteers who can commit to assisting with this program once a month. Suitable candidates will have lived experience caring for someone with dementia and demonstrate confidence in interacting with, supporting, and engaging families who are currently navigating this experience.

Spiritual Activities

This can include (but is not limited to);

- Running church services

- Bible readings

- Meditation

Administration roles

Roles may include assisting with filing, taking meeting minutes, supporting the preparation of newsletters, collating and laminating materials, and participating in consumer advisory boards. Please note that these roles are more limited, and additional training and relevant work experience may be required.

Volunteer Bus driver

Olivet operates two on-site buses for outings and is always looking for additional volunteers to assist with driving. Ideal candidates must hold a full driver’s license and be willing to complete a Bus Driver Awareness Training Program.

Corporate Volunteers

Olivet welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded organisations to create meaningful corporate volunteering partnerships within our residential aged care community.

By engaging your team in purposeful activities alongside our residents, your organisation can make a genuine difference while fostering connection, empathy, and social impact.
