Marketing and Events Volunteer

As a social media & marketing volunteer you will have the opportunity to support our vital work of changing lives, through culture by using your skills, knowledge and experience. This will be a great opportunity to use your skillset to develop our social media presence, bringing to life exciting content that puts the museum on the map.

 

 

What to expect:

Our volunteer roles are designed to be tailored around you, your interests and your skills. Some of the things you could be up to include:

  • Using your specialist skills and experience to support our teams to deliver our social media content and improve our marketing.
  • Assist with our events programme, developing our audience and assisting the delivery of events and workshops.
  • Produce video and still photography and written content to promote the museum and its events.
  • Develop and implement a poster/leaflet distribution plan within the Rushmoor area.
  • Work with the museum team to maintain a database of local organisations and schools and ensure that they are aware of or events programme.
  • Acquiring a basic knowledge of venue operations so that you can assist in reception if required.
  • Some remote volunteering is possible with this role.

 

This is of course not exhaustive as your volunteering will evolve around you and your skillsets.

 

 

Skills and Experience:

Ideally to be comfortable in this volunteer role we think you will need to have:

  • An eagerness to share your knowledge, skills and experience. – Essential.
  • Experience of social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram). – Essential.
  • Some basic graphic design experience. - Essential.
  • Ability to produce video and photos of a high standard.
  • Able to comply with HCT’s social media policy.
  • Interest in and knowledge of Aldershot's history would be beneficial.
