Welcome Team - Youth

The Welcome Team is often the first point of contact for our guests at WinSport. They provide support to guests through saying hi with a smile, answering questions, directing (and walking) guests to where they need to go and ensuring guests leave knowing they are welcome back.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide a friendly first-point-of-contact for our guests
  • Welcome guests through a smile and ask them if they need assistance
  • Answer questions guests may have and if the answer is not known, utilize the resources available to find the answer
  • Monitor lineups to redirect guests as needed
  • Proactively approach guests, engage in conversation and offer support
  • Ensure guests are adhering to WinSport policies and guidelines
  • Provide guests with up to date information about WinSport and available services
  • Provide additional help to guests who are carrying equipment
  • Support and direct guest concerns, including taking initiative to find solutions
  • Attend training sessions, orientations and meetings as required
  • Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers and WinSport guests
  • Be mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment and ensure all safety issues are reported to the appropriate individuals
  • Review all OH & S notices/meeting minutes as they are distributed within each department

 

Qualifications                     

  • Outgoing, enthusiastic and friendly
  • Ability to approach guests with ease
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to take direction and work independently
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to assist in a variety of indoor/outdoor locations as needed
  • Comfortable using technology
  • Vaccinated (2 doses) against COVID-19

 

Physical Demands

  • Fast paced indoor and outdoor environment in all weather conditions
  • 4 – 8 hour shifts
  • Carrying guest equipment (up to 20lbs) may be required
  • Weekend, evenings, weekdays depending on the season and organizational needs

  • Application, Interview, reference, Police Background Check
