EDS Volunteer - EDS Volunteer
A designated, trained volunteer will be available during local and regional disasters. He/she will work directly with and follow instructions of the Corps commanding officers. May serve alongside first responders and County Emergency Management Team.
Consider being part of the team that responds when hope is needed most. The Salvation Army Disaster Response team responds to local, regional, and national disasters like structure fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods. They provide the following once on scene:
Food and water: EDS teams prepare and serve food to first responders and disaster victims.
Shelter: EDS teams may provide or coordinate shelter at worship centers, local churches, schools, and other temporary facilities.
Materials and cleanup: EDS teams provide flood-relief kits, clothing, personal hygiene items, and household goods.
Financial assistance: EDS teams provide financial assistance to those who need it
Emotional and spiritual care: EDS teams provides emotional and spiritual care to survivors and first responders
Long-term recovery assistance: EDS teams coordinate long-term recovery assistance
