Lakeside Community Center - Earth Day Curbside Garden Planting

Join us for a special Earth Day community service event at Lakeside Community Center, where volunteers will help create a curbside garden and celebrate environmental stewardship with fellow community members. This hands-on project is a great opportunity to get outside, connect with others, and make a visible difference in the neighborhood wile we prepare the land for planting and then plat fresh plants.  The event will also include an Earth Day fair featuring community vendors and partners.

Saturday, April 18, 2026

  • 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.
  • 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

Volunteers may sign up for one or both shifts.

Volunteer Details:

  • No experience necessary; all are welcome
  • This is an outdoor volunteer project
  • Volunteers may be asked to bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, walk short distances, and lift light gardening materials
  • Food and refreshments will be provided
  • Gloves  will be available

What to Bring / What to Wear:

  • Reusable water bottle encouraged
  • Hat, sunscreen, and other sun protection
  • Light, comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor work
  • Sturdy, close-toed shoes
  • Work gloves if you have them

Come prepared to enjoy the sunshine, get a little dirty, and help create a greener, more beautiful community space this Earth Day.
