ParkCare Ranger Assist - Recreation of the WW1 training trenches at Jerrabomberra Wetlands
Recreation of the WW1 training trenches at Jerrabomberra Wetlands
Did you know that Canberra is home to some historic WW1 training trenches where the students of Duntroon Trench Warfare and Bombing School trained in preparation for battle?
This is a very different RangerAssist opportunity where you'll be joining Ranger Murray to fill 100 sandbags which will be used to recreate the trench training experience. After the sandbags are filled (expected to take around 2 hours) you'll get a chance to learn all about the history of the area as you work alongside members of the PCS team.
No experience is necessary and all training will be provided on the day. Please wear long sleeves and trousers, a hat and bring some water and a snack. You might also like to bring along some gardening/ work gloves.
Meeting place is 2 Dairy Rd Fyshwick, past the Wetland Foreshores Development, through the traffic calming devices until you get to a green mail box, gate and sign on your left saying Jerrabomberra Wetlands Offices.
