ParkCare Wildlife Assist - Bettong and Wallaby Trapping Preparation
Trapping is a crucial part of monitoring the health and reproductive status of our endangered species, as well as allowing us to move animals between enclosures. To ensure that we reduce any risk of disease transfer between trapping events, we need to clean our traps after use. We would appreciate if volunteers were able to assist us in this task.
Volunteers would assist with cleaning bettong and BTRW traps in preparation for trapping the following weeks. We would require volunteer assistance for at least 2 hours. Volunteers would assist a wildlife officer with cleaning traps, fixing traps (repairing padding/replacing padding), numbering new traps with tags and carrying out a trap audit.
