Gallery Invigilation Volunteer
Gallery invigilation usually occurs in our Monument or Summerfield Exhibition Galleries, for our changing exhibitions. Volunteers will ensure the security of artworks, whilst welcoming and engaging with visitors on the current exhibition.
This role is supervised by the Duty Managers.
• Welcoming visitors into the Wilson galleries
• Talk to visitors and answer questions as best you can, these questions could be on the Wilson, the exhibition, or Cheltenham in general.
• Pass any enquiries along to the relevant departments or teams
• Collate feedback, comments and suggestions from visitors and ensure all feedback is passed along to the Duty Manager.
• You are our eyes and ears in the galleries, report anything that needs further attention to the Duty Manager.
• Assist the Duty Manager in the safe evacuation of the building, should the need occur.
• Tidy and top up resources within the galleries
Requirements:
• Welcoming and friendly
• Confidence to interact with members of the public
Gallery invigilation shifts occur Tuesday - Sunday, except during exhibition change overs.
Please note, we are asking all volunteers to commit to at least 2 gallery invigilation shifts per month. This is to ensure that our exhibitions can remain open to the public
