The Cheltenham Trust

It is Volunteers’ Week from June 1 and our volunteer coordinators Laura Lintern and Polly Gannaway-Pitts have sent the following message to all the Trust volunteers to mark the special week.

A big thank you goes out to all our wonderful volunteers, who give us so much of their valuable time. Sadly, because of lockdown, the usual celebrations for volunteers’ week will not be able to go ahead. Although the message this year is a socially distant, virtual one, it is still the same.

We are so sorry this is not able to go ahead; it is the highlight of the year for us being able to say a big thank you to all our volunteers and the wonderful support you offer.

“We really couldn’t do this without you. Whatever role you do and for however long you have been doing, it really is appreciated. We can’t wait to see you all again and as soon as we are back to work we will be in touch.”

"In response to yesterday’s (16/03/2020) guidance from the Government and to ensure the health and safety of all our customers, visitors, staff and volunteers, The Cheltenham Trust has made the decision to close its venues until further notice.

We look forward to resuming normal service as soon as we can, and we will provide regular updates and information on future shows and events and virtual activities that we will promote. We look forward to welcoming you back to our venues."

The Wilson wants to launch an online photography exhibition of hope and gratitude, and to start it off we need your stories and pics of small acts of human kindness in recent days. From the food delivery driver who left the delivery at your gate to the neighbour who popped in to check someone vulnerable was OK, to the local business donating supplies. We want to celebrate #humankindChelt and would love your stories – however small or seemingly insignificant. Please spread the word and help us celebrate what really matters in these odd times. Instructions below about what to do and how to submit.

How to submit a HUMANKIND story:

Send in a photograph that captures a person, a moment,  or a scene of Human Kindness. Write a few words explaining the person, moment or scene, along with your name and contact details to:

This campaign will launch in the next days across our social platforms we will be using the #HumanKindChelt, so please start following and sharing the campaign.
