Nipawin - Hospital - Youth Ambassador
The Youth Volunteer Ambassador assists with various activities at the site. They encourage client's participation in activities.
They are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Long-term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents
The duties of the Youth volunteer include: *Engaging patients in activities, such as: visiting, reading, writing letters, playing cards, setting up puzzles. *Providing patients with videos, magazines, and books. *Prepare the patients for supper by tidying their over bed tables, and providing shirt savers. *Circulating to patient rooms after trays have been delivered to assist as required. *Replacing disposable glove boxes, as needed. *Roll isolation gowns. *Washing flashlights and stethoscopes by the nursing desk. *Collecting and cleaning wheel chairs & Staxi chairs Main entrance and Inpatient Units *Picking up flowers from the front desk and delivering them to the patients. *Taking ambulatory patients for walks, if allowed. *Taking patients in wheelchairs for a walk, if allowed. *Reporting any injuries or unusual occurrence to the Nurse-in-Charge. *Making charts, cutting “med additive” stickers. *Seasonal decorating as assigned. *Replenishing pamphlets & posters in the
