Welcome Volunteers. Thank you for showing interest in volunteering with our refugee population in Greeley. Here you can sign up for and record your hours for various opportunities including driving for health appointments, helping during move-ins, and cultural mentoring.
Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains is a faith based, non-profit human services agency providing adoption, foster care, older adult & caregiver, prevention, and refugee services since 1948. We provide help and support to children and families during their most challenging times regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or age. At LFSRM, we believe that all people, from the newborn to the most elderly, are valued members of our community.
With offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Greeley, and Albuquerque, we partner with communities to meet the unmet needs affecting their most vulnerable populations. LFSRM strives to recognize areas in need and to find ways to serve those who have seemingly become invisible. Every day, hundreds of people turn to LFSRM for refuge, help and hope.
In 1975, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) contacted LFSRM to begin resettlement of refugees. Since that time, the LFSRM Refugee & Asylee Programs have helped people who have been uprooted by persecution and violence work towards self-sufficiency through essential resettlement services, including: housing, employment, English language, and cultural orientation.
LFSRM works together with LIRS, and other churches, organizations, community groups, businesses, and individuals to provide the services and supplies necessary for refugees to become self-sufficient and integrate into their new communities.
