Garden Ambassadors

Mt. Cuba Center is a botanic garden located in Hockessin, Delaware that is committed to providing remarkable experiences to our guests. Volunteer ambassadors help deliver this experience by roaming our natural lands trails or lush formal and naturalistic gardens to welcome and chat with guests, as well as provide directions and general assistance.

We are looking for individuals with a friendly, outgoing manner and strong communication skills. Ambassadors should enjoy spending time outdoors and must be able to stand for extended periods and walk over rugged terrain. Knowledge of, or interest in, gardening and native plants is preferred.  Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply!

Ambassador shifts are between 3 to 3.5 hours long on during our April to November visitation season and are scheduled as follows: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm, and 3:30 pm to 6:15 pm. Ambassadors commit to 6-14 hours per month.

Mt. Cuba Center history, horticulture, and guest safety training will be provided.
