If you are interested in volunteering with us, please fill out an application to be considered for a position. While we make every effort to match volunteers with available positions as quickly as possible, the number of positions available does fluctuate, and consequently the time needed to be matched with a position varies between one and six months. ARBI’s Rehabilitation Program is an intensive neurorehabilitation program offering one-to-one assessment and customized treatment plans. Rehabilitation volunteers work with our therapy team and our clients to implement programs designed to help clients reach their goals.
You must be available at least once a week (Monday to Friday) for a minimum of 2.5 hours and be able to commit for a minimum of six months. Rehabilitation volunteer shifts are typically 2.5–3.5 hours in the morning (between 8:30am–12:00pm) or afternoon (between 12:30pm–4:00pm).
ARBI’s Community Integration Program (CIP) offers meaningful recreational and social opportunities for our clients at our facility and out in the community. ARBI hosts a variety of interactive groups to appeal to a wide range of clients with diverse interests. Volunteers work alongside staff to deliver the programs and support clients in meeting their goals.
You must be available at least once a week (Monday – Friday) for a minimum of 1.5 hours and be able to commit for a minimum of six months. For specific program times, please inquire.
ARBI has a variety of roles that support our fund development department. From performing administrative tasks to helping plan and execute events—you can utilize your unique skills and talents to help raise awareness and funds for brain injury rehabilitation.
ARBI hosts a variety of special events and fundraiser throughout the year. Special event volunteers may fulfill different roles depending on the event. Some examples are: Calgary Marathon Cheer Station, Stampede Breakfast, Holiday Open House.
ARBI is a community-based non-profit organization that strives to improve the lives of individuals with moderate to severe brain injury, including stroke. We unite professionals, volunteers, and caregivers throughout Alberta to provide personalized rehabilitation and community integration.
