Youth Program - Music Instructor

Activity Summary:

Music is an integral part of The Salvation Army's Metropolitan Division.  We have a growing and thriving music program that allows underprivileged children age 8-16 throughout the Lake County Illinois area to learn and explore parts of music they ordinarily do not have the access to explore.

As a part of the music program, we are looking for Music Instructors to join our mission in continuing to provide hope and joy to communities in need through music.

Volunteers proficient in music theory for beginners and instructors for Brass, Piano, Guitar and Drums are encouraged to apply.

Two teachers are needed per class, one to lead and one to support and help supervise students. Class will meet Thursdays from 5:30pm-6:30pm from early September to mid November and will end with a Winter Concert. Classes will resume late January to early June and end with a Spring Concert. Music teachers should plan to spend an additional 1-2 hours per week preparing for class.
