Thank you for your interest in volunteering at BC's Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre.
Please read the following information carefully before submitting your volunteer application:
Volunteers must be 16+ years of age to be eligible for our gift shop, thrift shop, navigation and wayfinding, fun cart, and sibling support opportunities. Volunteers who are 18+ years of age are eligible for our patient support opportunities. This is due to the age of our pediatric patients and the nature of the assignments at BC Women's Hospital.
Our greatest need for volunteers is Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, when there are more volunteering options. There are very limited volunteer opportunities available on weekends and in the evenings.
We are fortunate to receive a significant volume of interest from potential volunteers. Once an application is submitted, applicants are pre-screened from the information provided so please be comprehensive in completing the online application. You will be invited for an information session in July, November or March for Jan 1 to April 30 term, May 1 to Aug 31 term or Sept to Dec 31 term. Upon acceptance as a volunteer, you will then be asked to complete a criminal record check, we will contact your references and you will complete any required orientation/training.
If we have not been in touch within 6 months, your skills, interests, and availability may not match our current vacancies and your application will be closed. You are welcome to re-apply.
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our office at volunteer@cw.bc.ca or phone 604-875-2000 ext. 7221.
Thank you,
