Thank you for your interest in volunteering with National Mill Dog Rescue at our Dogsville location, just outside of Humansville, Missouri. Dogsville is home to many of our rescued dogs while they wait for loving families, and it’s also where we host events, outreach activities, and community programs.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re helping with dog care, assisting at events, or providing much-needed socialization time, your time and compassion directly change the lives of dogs who have waited far too long for love.
At Dogsville, you’ll find a variety of ways to get involved, including:
- Dog Care – Helping with kennel cleaning and play yard upkeep.
- Socialization – Walking dogs, spending time with them in play yards, or offering gentle companionship in their kennels.
- Bathing & Grooming – Helping our dogs look and feel their best (with safety training for grooming).
- Education, Outreach & Events – Representing NMDR at adoption fairs, festivals, school visits, and other community events.
- Orientation for New Volunteers – We’ll guide you through the basics and set up your first volunteer session.
Every moment you spend here helps build trust, restore joy, and prepare our dogs for happy homes.
