Activity Summary:

The Salvation Army's General Event assistant help organize everything related to some Salvation Army events in Des Plaines Corps

The General Event assistant  will help with, such as setting up tables, banquets, getting people to their seats, setting up the venue for the event etc. the  Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Participate with Teens in the programs.
• Coordinate with other volunteers (be a team player)
• Assisting with cleaning after each event.

The schedule of events varies according to the type of event, program or ministry.. The volunteer will need to be available to work at least 3 hours.  

Qualifications:

• 15 years and older
• Creative and quick thinker (problem solver)
• High energy level and a joyful demeanor.
• Ability to relate to and work with people from diverse backgrounds
• Possess effective communication abilities
• Reliable, professional, and friendly
• Ability to show kindness to everyone and generously.
• Pass initial screening process, including a background check

Policies:

Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are not permitted at any Salvation Army facilities or volunteer sites.

Pants/shorts and a shirt with sleeves must cover the waist and fit comfortably. Transparent and tight-fitting clothes are not permitted. For your safety, closed toe shoes are required.

For your safety and the safety of others, Its Optional to bring and wear a personal face covering over your nose and mouth while volunteering. You will also complete a brief health screening prior to volunteering.

Off-street parking is available.
