Help make Spring Valley greener, one tree at at time! Join the Equity Driven Tree Planting Program and the County of San Diego for a community tree giveaway at Spring Valley Community Center. Volunteers will support a variety of roles, including event setup, participant check-din, tree loading, sharing tree care information, and cleanup. Shifts are 3 hours long, with overlap during peak times to ensure smooth transitions. Come for one shift or stay for more!

What You’ll Do:

Choose one or more 3-hour shifts, all with overlapping time to ensure smooth transitions and extra support during busy periods. Volunteers help out during the event by: 

• Shift 1 (7 a.m. - 10 a.m.)
  • Event Setup (tables, signage, canopy, tree staging)
  • Unloading and staging trees
  • Early participant check-in
  • Initial tree loading and distribution
• Shift 2 (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.)
  • Tree loading and distribution
  • Greeting and checking in participants
  • Sharing basic tree care and planting tips
• Shift 3 (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
  • Continued participant assistance
  • Light event breakdown
  • Cleanup and packing materials

We have roles for all abilities; from physical tasks to friendly outreach!

Who Can Volunteer:

• Ages 16+ (under 18 with a guardian)
• Friendly, reliable, and enjoys working outdoors
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs. (optional roles also available)
