Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria's Volunteer Portal

Established in 1968, Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria is one of Australia’s oldest environmental non-profits dedicated to inspiring and empowering community action to protect and enhance our environment.

Over 125,000 Victorians support KABV to help build more resilient and sustainable communities, with more than 2,500 volunteers taking action in their local community.

Our Volunteers & Program

As a volunteer you can work with community members who share your passion for the environment and have fun connecting to others, to forge a sense of community pride and responsibility for your local area.

The Stationeers program supports the maintenance and improvement work undertaken by local community groups, and works in collaboration with Metro Trains, V/Line, VicTrack and Public Transport Victoria.

Railway stations are the gateway to a community and a clean and attractive station creates a sense of community pride.

For more information on what do Stationeers do, please see our Current Opportunities below.

Stationeer Volunteers

Stationeer volunteers establish and improve railway station landscapes by removing litter, planting and maintaining garden beds. The work they do is extremely important in beautifying the surrounds and creating a safer railway station for passengers.

What you will achieve:

• Have fun with like-minded people

• Enhance and contribute to your local community

• Keep physically active

• Contribute to the diversity of the local environment.

KVB supports volunteers in their role by providing:

• safety equipment (such as high visibility vests & signs)
• safety training
• public liability and personal injury insurance
• permission from the appropriate railway authority to carry out volunteer work.

Stationeer groups provide regular reports to the Stationeer Volunteer Manager. These reports provide a unified process and monitoring system of the volunteer work taking place across Victoria’s railway stations. The information also helps the Stationeer Volunteer Manager to ensure that groups are best equipped to carry out volunteer work.
