Museum Ambassadors are volunteers who play a central role in welcoming and assisting visitors to the Museum, as well as contributing to the daily operation of exhibitions and public programs.
Joining our team is a great opportunity to grow your skills, expand your knowledge of our region and meet new people.
Welcome desk Ambassadors play a key role in welcoming visitors to the Museum. Ambassadors offer courteous, helpful and informed information, calling on staff assistance when required. Ambassadors record visitor numbers and assist in maintaining the safety of visitors and our exhibits, as well as assisting with Museum opening and closing procedures. Ambassadors also process sales in our small Museum shop.
School Program Ambassadors work closely with the Education Officer to support the delivery of quality learning experiences for primary and secondary school students.
Assistance is given on an ad hoc basis during school term periods.
Ambassadors assisting with school programs will need to complete a Working with Children Check.
Holiday Program Ambassadors work closely with the Education Officer to assist with the preparation and delivery of children's workshops linked to the Museum's exhbition program. Assistance is given during school holiday periods.
Ambassadors assisting with holiday programs will need to complete a Working with Children Check.
The Museum delivers programs for a wide range of adult visitors. These include Curator Tours, Dementia Programs and Artist Workshops. These programs are delivered on an occasional basis.
The Museum delivers many exciting special events including Museum Up-late, Story Salons, Street Parties and our Museum on Wheels activations at local markets, festivals and holiday parks. We’re always looking for enthusiastic Ambassadors to support these programs on an occasional basis.
