Youth Leadership Program

Join the Adelaide Hills Council Youth Leadership Program (YLP) to give yourself an edge!

YLP offers participants a unique opportunity to build transferable professional skills, increase their confidence, and participate in memorable events and activities - all at no cost (and with free pizza!).

YLP is designed for young people aged 13-25 years who live, socialise, or attend school in the Adelaide Hills district.

The program consists of a series of professionally facilitated, fun workshops focussing on a range of skills:

  • effective communication
  • entrepreneurship
  • public speaking
  • events management
  • goal setting
  • peer consultation
  • authentic leadership
  • conflict & negotiation
  • social media branding
  • driving social change
  • problem solving

After this series of workshops, the group will design and run events or programs for the community of their own interest.

Participation is completely free of charge, and participants require no prior experience in leadership roles or school groups.

Successful applicants will be asked to commit to approximately three hours per week between April and June, and two hours per fortnight from June - November.

Apply to join the program by filling in an online application form, or for further information contact Mark de Lange, Community Development Officer, on 8408 0590.
