Volunteer for Haunted Trails at Dos Picos County Park!

Get into the Halloween spirit and help us bring a spooky night to life at Haunted Trails at Dos Picos County Park! We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers for this family-friendly evening of fun frights on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Join us for a ½-mile haunted forest walk and help guests enjoy thrills, chills, and festive Halloween cheer!

Volunteer Shifts:

Shift 1: Set-Up & Pre-Event Support

Time: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Help transform Dos Picos into a spooky wonderland before guests arrive!
Roles include:

• Set-Up Crew (props, signage, lighting, stations)
• Event Prep Support (check-in setup, info table)
• Early Guest Support & Wayfinding (5:00–7:00 p.m.)

Shift 2: Haunted Trail Crew , including Scarers & Spirit Guides!

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Be part of the main event! Volunteers in this shift will bring the Haunted Trail to life!
Roles include:

• Scarers (stationed throughout the trail with costumes and characters)
• Spirit Guides (lead groups safely through the trail, help keep flow and fun)
• Trail Monitors & Guest Flow Support
• Closing Event Help (directing final guests, wrapping up stations)
• Take-Down Crew (packing props, signage, and materials)

Note: Trail opens to the public at 7:00 p.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m.

Community Service Hours: Staff can verify volunteer hours for community service or school requirements.

 What to Wear:

• Comfortable, outdoor-appropriate clothing
• Closed-toed shoes are required
• Costumes welcome (especially for scare roles), but must be family-friendly
• No gore, clown costumes, or full-face masks (unless pre-approved for scare roles)

This eerie ½-mile walkthrough features spooky fun designed for families, with creepy characters and surprises around every bend. Set in the forested landscape of Dos Picos County Park, the trail provides the perfect Halloween night adventure for guests of all ages (though not for the easily startled!).
