Trails - Amphibious Assault on Black Creek, XC-logout and post fire debris clearing - Thursday Oct 22

On Thursday October 22nd  we will try and do another amphibious assault on Black Creek.  We have 5 canoes lined up with captains  and we will launch from Shadow Bay and paddle across Waldo Lk to where the Black Creek trail intersects the Jim Weaver loop trail.  Once settled on shore we hill hike in about 1.3 miles with saws and other hand tools.  There are logs to buck up and lots of fallen and crushed burnt debris. This is obviously weather dependent.    We will need 4 more volunteers who are comfortable paddling canoes potentially in choppy conditions.  The paddle across Waldo is roughly 1.6 miles and takes about a half hour.  The hike in is all downhill, the hike out will have roughly 1000ft of elevation gain.  We will aim to be back at Shadow Bay at about 4PM.

Let's meet at 7:00AM at the Pisgah Public Market in Pleasant Hill.  To get there head east on 58 and at the top of the hill after crossing the Coast Fork of the Willamette there is a 76 Station on the left and a Dairy Queen on the right of 58.  The Public Market parking lot is on the left. There is a Dari Market there and other shops.  We meet close to the Espresso 58 coffee hut. Let's meet there and caravan up to the work site. Bring lunch, extra water, sunscreen, rain gear, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, mosquito repellant or netting and heavy boots.  Please let the crew leader know ahead of time if you need a hard hat.
