CV Saw Program - Log Bucking Techniques

One on one hands on bucking session with experienced, former professional sawyer.  I will help you develop  techniques to safely and effectively buck logs. 

Students must have a MyImpactPage with Willamette National Forest through Cascade Volunteers, a valid saw certification card, current first aid card, and a signed Volunteer Service Agreement.  Must have appropriate PPE (helmet, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, leather boots, chaps, etc.)  Saw must be in good working order with two sharp chains.  Must have own fuel, ax & wedges. 

Working area will be McCoy Creek Rd # 2233, off of HWY 22.

Qualifications Required

  • CPR Must be Active
  • First Aid Must be at least Basic First Aid
  • USFS Chainsaw Certification - Bucking Must be at least Certified - A Sawyer
  • WNF Approved Volunteer Must be VSA available in Box
