Skills College - 2026 Dinner & Evening Presentations

Join us for dinner time and our evening presentations on a variety of topics!

Time: Thursday - Saturday, 5 PM - 7PM

Location: Cafeteria

Evening Presentations:

5/14: Speaker YTD

5/15: Fire Safety with Gregg Sasek

  • Join Gregg Sasek, McKenzie District Trials/Wilderness Program Manager, as he shares important information that every crew leader and crew member should know when working in the field during an active fire season.  Things to consider include pre-planning, communication, route planning, and steps to take in the event a new fire starts in the area you're working in.

5/16: Wildlife

  • The Willamette National Forest is home to a variety of wildlife species that are of special interest and/or get protection during management projects. Some are well known such as northern spotted owl and eagles, and some are less known such as northern waterthrush and western bumble bee. Find out which species you are most likely to encounter as a volunteer, how to identify them, and how to report sightings to your local wildlife biologist.

In addition to signing up for this course, don't forget to complete the RSVP form here.  You only need to complete this form once.
