Durrell Volunteer - Zoo Ranger

Want to help Durrell Wildlife connect people to nature and save species from extinction? now's your chance!

Jersey Zoo is looking for friendly, reliable and fun loving volunteers to train as Zoo Rangers - must be 18+.

The position covers four main areas: Butterfly house, Lemur pontoon, Gerald Durrell Story and Gorilla enclosure.

Volunteers wont need lots of conservation knowledge but must be happy with being in public areas, up close with butterflies and lemurs and spending time around the gorilla enclosure and in the Gerald Durrell Exhibit. Time volunteering will be split and rotating in each area (approx. 45mins/1hr). All these areas are important for Durrell as we help deliver a great day in the park and people connect with nature through getting closer than ever before to these beautiful species.

We ask that Zoo Rangers sign up and commit to a session every 2 weeks - although some do more.  Weekends and school holidays are our peak times.

Training and volunteer uniform will be provided and we welcome all people who share our team ethos, respect and passion for wildlife can work well with other volunteers and in public areas.

Please feel free to apply right now by clicking on the blue button in the top right of this page or email daniel.craven@durrell.org for any assistance.
