Programmatic - Pokémon Club Facilitator Assistant

Are you ready to help kids level‑up their math skills while having a blast with trading cards and friendly battles? San José Public Library is looking for enthusiastic, youth‑friendly volunteers interested in supporting our Pokémon Club; an energetic space where 2nd–5th graders trade cards, practice math through gameplay, and make new friends.
How You Will Make a Difference
Pokémon Clubs help youth strengthen their math skills, build confidence, and connect with peers in a fun, welcoming environment – crucial towards helping students reach academic success for the incoming school year.
Volunteers are needed to:

Support gameplay by helping students navigate Pokémon battles, practice basic math, and follow game rules

Encourage positive social interaction by fostering teamwork, kindness, and good sportsmanship

Assist with card trading by guiding fair trades and help youth understand card values

Commitment/Schedule
