BAD SEED - Invasive Plant Removal

Invasive plants kill native plants and destroy Coquitlam's beautiful natural habitat. We need your help to stop the introduction and spread of garden plants that can be harmful to people, animals and ecosystems.

Volunteers remove invasive plants, such as English ivy, yellow lamium and Himalayan blackberry with help from City Staff members.

Locations vary and there is no minimum time commitment.

NOTE:  We do not remove invasive plants during the winter.  Check back in the spring for event details.

Park Host Program

Park hosts enhance the park experience for the public by providing site-specific information and expertise. They provide information and assistance to park users, explain park rules, report on park conditions, and collect data about wildlife, plants and water quality.

  • Act as an ambassador for the park, answering questions from the public and sharing park information
  • Inform park users of proper trail usage (trail etiquette, dogs, etc)
  • Observe and report on trail conditions
  • Pick up litter and other small maintenance tasks as required
  • Complete indicator and invasive species survey reports as required (Currently only Mundy Park)
