Nature: practical activities - Adders-Up volunteer surveyor training

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to complete surveys of the iconic reptile - the adder, which is now vulnerable to extinction in England. 

Volunteers must attend a training session before being assigned survey sites. This event is part of the Adders-Up project.

Online training - 12 March, 7pm to 8.30pm. Upcoming Events – North Pennines National Landscape  Field surveyor training - Location - Cuthbert's Moor, near Eggleston, 15 March, 0900 -12 noon and 22 March - Location - West Moor Plantation, 0900 - 12 noon.

 

Walking distances – potential for walking over rough terrain, slopes, heathland & bog.

Required clothing / equipment: Sturdy boots, long trousers, outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather, snacks and drinks. Fully charged mobile phone.

No toilets / amenities are present on the site. Nearest options will be made known at the start of the session during the H&S briefing.
