Nature: practical activities - Wildflower planting into meadows
Join us on farms across Teesdale to help increase biodiversity, connectivity for pollinators and conserve threatened wildflower species, by planting out wildflowers into Teesdale’s upland hay meadows.
These wildflower plants have been grown from locally hand-collected seeds and looked after for a year by volunteers either at home or at Bowlees Wildflower nursery.
Delivered as part of the North Pennines National Landscape’s ongoing programme of works, supporting farmers and landowners to deliver nature recovery.
We will be planting out wildflower plants at several locations across Teesdale throughout the autumn, locations tbc. Children must be supervised by an adult.
Dates are:
- 30 September (9.30am to 12.30pm)
- 21 October (10am to 3pm)
- 28 October ( 9.30am to 12.30pm)
- 10 November (10am to 3pm)
- 26 November (10am to 3pm)
