Nature: practical activities - Wildflower seed collecting (Tees-Swale)

Join us for our sessions of collecting wildflower seeds form sites across Teesdale.

As part of the Tees-Swale: naturally connected programme wildflower seeds will be sown at workshops in the autumn and then grown on into plants which can be used as part of the restoration and enhancement of meadows in Teesdale.

Wildflower seed collection dates:

9 July, 1pm to 4pm

6 August, 1pm to 4pm

There is also the opportunity to join staff from Kew Gardens Millennium Seed Bank on 8 September, 12.30pm to 5pm, for a seed colleting training afternoon. You will learn how to identify when seeds are ready to be collected, how to collect seeds responsibly, how seeds are prepared and stored, and the importance of seed collecting for conservation efforts.

If you have any questions about these opportunities please contact Harry at harry@northpennines.org.uk
