Nature: practical activities - Plug planting (Tees-Swale)

Join us on farms across Teesdale to help increase biodiversity, connectivity for pollinators and conserve threatened wildflower species by plug planting wildflowers into Teesdale’s upland hay meadows.

We will be plug planting at several location across Teesdale throughout the autumn.

27 November (Harwood-in-Teesdale)

An additional opportunity is available to plant plugs across an abandoned metal mining site in Teesdale. By planting plugs grown from seed collected from the sparse Calaminarian grassland habitat, we aim to create more of this rare habitat.

03 December (Marl beck, Middleton-in-Teesdale)

 

All training and equipment will be provided.

General level of fitness required. All ages are welcome; children must be supervised by adult. Outdoor clothing be worn and bring waterproofs and wear sturdy shoes.
