North Pennines National Landscape

The North Pennines National Landscape team are hosting a weekend of nature themed activities at Low Way farm in Holwick. We are looking for volunteers to help with making the weekend run as smoothly as possible.

This small family friendly event is taking place at Low way Farm, Holwick, Middleton-in-Teesdale on the weekend of Saturday 30 May and Sunday 31 May. More info available here: Nature Camp Weekend – North Pennines National Landscape

This is a unique volunteer opportunity to support the events operational activities by;

• Stewarding - helping cars get parked in the field, helping attendees find their way to activities on the farm, guide people to get involved with self-led activities such as the treasure hunt.
• Helping with set up and take down of equipment.
• Being a back marker for walks, or helping assist with some of the workshops eg: river dipping, arts and crafts, bat walk (all training provided)
• Helping with the campfire and meals eg: keeping fire stoked.  

You’d be welcome to camp over on the Saturday evening and would have your evening meal and breakfast provided free of charge. If not staying over, any help on either of the days would be great.

There will be time for you to enjoy some of the activities at this special event. The Nature camp event will be suitable for families and adults.

Upon assigning yourself to this activity, you will be contacted to discuss your preferred volunteer role in the event and to be provided any further information needed for this volunteer opportunity. 

PLEASE NOTE: At the moment you are signing up to register interest so the schedule only shows Saturday 30 May, 9am-16:00pm, at the moment. The event will involve the opportunity of volunteering shifts on Saturday 30 May and Sunday 31 May.

What to bring: outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy footwear. A bottle of water - this can be refilled throughout the day.

If the weather is warm and sunny, bring adequate sun protection: sunhat, sunscreen.
