Our Knowledge Philanthropy Model
Vantage Point innovated the term “Knowledge Philanthropy,” a practice which engages skilled and passionate volunteers from the community to increase capacity and add expertise to non-profit organizations.
Our Knowledge Philanthropists (“KPs”) contribute their specific expertise and experience towards our mission: to lift the capacity of non-profit leaders. They offer time, energy, knowledge, and skills to Vantage Point, and are key members of our integrated talent team. KPs are proven experts in their field and deliver most of our programs in topic areas such as strategic planning, board governance, organizational assessment, financial governance, HR practices, and leadership.

We connect volunteers with non-profit organizations
Vantage Point always has been, and remains today, an impact-driven and collaborative organization. It was founded as the Central Volunteer Bureau of Vancouver in 1943 to provide volunteer matching services throughout the city. We are proud of our heritage and our contribution to the amazing power volunteerism has in our community.
Vantage Point grew from the desire to address the changing paradigm of volunteerism and our sector’s need to invest in capacity building. We believe non-profits can achieve their goals – and long-term stability – by changing the way they view people engagement and by investing in their professional development.
