NVADG- 2026 Training - NVADG - 09-19 & 09-20-26 Ropes & Water Rescue Awareness

Ropes & Water Rescue Awareness

NVADG - 09-19 & 09-20-26

Locations and start/end times will be announced as we get closer to the training weekend.

This is a two-day training weekend, with each day focusing on a different set of rescue skills.

One day will provide an introduction to Over the Edge (OTE) Rope Rescue. Participants will learn basic rope rescue techniques, including using ropes and hardware to lower and raise victims, as well as rappelling down small cliffs. NVADG will provide all necessary rescue equipment. Please wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring enough food and water for the day.

The other day will introduce participants to water rescue and boat operations. We will not be practicing swift- or moving-water rescue skills. The training will primarily focus on boat operations; however, participants will practice skills such as man-overboard drills, so be prepared to get wet! NVADG will provide dry suits, personal flotation devices (PFDs), boats, and other necessary equipment. Please bring a bathing suit or clothing you don't mind getting wet, along with food and water for the day.

Locations and start/end times will be announced as we get closer to the training weekend.
