Welcome to the UCalgary Alumni Volunteer Portal

We are thrilled that you are interested in volunteering with UCalgary Alumni! Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. When you join our powerhouse volunteer team you will get a backstage pass to some of the biggest UCalgary events of the year.

Whether you get excited about Rex driving a spaceship down the Calgary Stampede Parade route, helping children discover holiday magic during our Skate with Santa event, or framing degrees for our newest graduates, there is always something happening that you can help out with.

Follow the instructions below to get added to our volunteer list so you can learn about exciting new opportunities as they become available.   

As a UCalgary volunteer, you will be positioned to make a positive impact on the vitality and well-being of our vibrant alumni community. You will learn and grow, you will connect with other volunteers, and you will have fun along the way!

Volunteer Application Process 

To gain access to UCalgary Alumni volunteer opportunities, complete ALL of the following steps:

1. Click on the red button on the right-hand side of this screen that says “Fill in an application,” and complete the application form.
   
   
2. Complete the mandatory Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training. This online, self paced training takes less than 10 minutes, and includes a PowerPoint presentation followed by a multiple choice quiz. 
   
   You are required to complete your mandatory OHS training within one month of applying. After one month, we will archive your application and you will need to re-apply. 
   
   Note: If you would prefer an in-person training option, email alumnivolunteers@ucalgary.ca and we will work with you to arrange a time that works for a face-to-face training. 
   
   
3. Once you have completed the Occupational Health and Safety training, you will be able to access and sign up for Volunteer Postings, and you will also be signed up to receive emails about new volunteer opportunities as they become available.

Affinity Communities

Join (or start!) a volunteer-led group to connect with your fellow alumni. Affinity Communities are volunteer-led micro-communities built around common interests and experiences, faculty affiliation, or location. Members plan activities and events throughout the year, organize volunteer opportunities and build connections across their community.
