Alberta Health Services - Home Care & Community Programs (Calgary Zone)

The Caring Hands program is designed to support the families of  newborn multiples by providing an extra pair of caring hands that are hospital trained to interact with babies in a comforting, helpful, caring manner. Volunteers visit with the family in their home once a week for 3 hours, Monday- Friday between the hours of 9:00am-3:00pm. Referrals come through Public Health Nurses / Acute Care Maternity / NICU Social Work who have identified which families would benefit from an extra pair of hands. Criteria is based on need; preference is given to those with limited or no family assistance.
