Dakota Community Centre

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist in the Dakota Nursery School on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays 9 am to 12 pm shifts!

Reporting to the Director of Dakota Nursery School, the Nursery School Helper will assist our Staff to care for children between 3-4 years of age. 

In late 2024, there was a change in requirements for staff and volunteers who work in Nursery Schools i.e. Mandatory Child Abuse Training is now required.  This on-line course is only offered in English and French only.  This training takes approximately 25 minutes, is comprised of one module and one quiz, and participants receive a record of participation upon successful completion of the final quiz.  Link to this course will be provided once accepted into the Volunteer Program.

Duties Include:

• Helping the children in the classroom with games, activities and story-time.
• Preparing crafts and helping the children complete their craft project.
• Assist with sanitizing toys and contact areas after each group
• Help with prep-work i.e. making photocopies, putting packages together for arts & crafts.
