Child/Youth Program Volunteer
Role
To assist staff in the delivery of preschool, children’s and youth programs.
Time Commitment
- Must commit to the program session duration (1 day, or 4-12 weeks, varies by program)
- Various Hours
Responsibilities
- Follow all policies and procedures
- Assist staff with the delivery of lesson plans and additional support to the program
- Assist with providing a safe and well-supervised learning environment
- Assist with set up and tear down of required equipment
- Assist with the provision of a welcoming and positive atmosphere for children to actively participate, excel and make friends
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be 14 years of age or older
- Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Screening for 18+)
- Must meet requirements of the Town of Milton volunteer program
- Prior experience with children, an asset
- Standard First Aid and CPR an asset
- HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development, an asset
- Leader in Training Program, an asset
- Punctual, consistent, reliable
- Friendly, outgoing
