Child/Youth Program Volunteer

Role

To assist staff in the delivery of preschool, children’s and youth programs.

 

Time Commitment

  • Must commit to the program session duration (1 day, or 4-12 weeks, varies by program)
  • Various Hours

 

Responsibilities

  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • Assist staff with the delivery of lesson plans and additional support to the program
  • Assist with providing a safe and well-supervised learning environment
  • Assist with set up and tear down of required equipment
  • Assist with the provision of a welcoming and positive atmosphere for children to actively participate, excel and make friends

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be 14 years of age or older
  • Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Screening for 18+)
  • Must meet requirements of the Town of Milton volunteer program
  • Prior experience with children, an asset
  • Standard First Aid and CPR an asset
  • HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development, an asset
  • Leader in Training Program, an asset
  • Punctual, consistent, reliable
  • Friendly, outgoing
