Hopefully you may already be familiar with Jeremiah's Journey and the work we do, however, in summary: We are a Plymouth-based charity providing free emotional support to children, young people, and their families who are either anticipating or coping with the death of someone special.

Some national statistics that reminds us why we do what we do:

  • Every 20 minutes, a child is bereaved of a parent
  • By the age of 16, 1 in 20 young people in the UK have experienced the loss of 1 or both parents - that is 1 child in every average sized class
  • 41% of youth offenders experienced child bereavement

We receive no statutory funding, therefore each year we must raise approximately £280,000 to continue supporting around 450 families, through their grief journey.

Why volunteer with us?

  • Receive role specific training
  • Receive support from the Jeremiah’s Journey team
  • Meet like-minded people and have fun!
  • It provides you with an incredible opportunity to enhance your CV and develop personal and professional skills and experience
  • By supporting us, volunteers make a huge contribution enabling the charity to work with many more children, young people and families when they need us most.
  • Incentives and volunteer social events.
