NICU Veteran Parent (18 years old +)

General Description:
Support for parents of premature or sick babies is essential to help cope with having a baby in the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the transition home. While medical intervention and education from professionals is critical, parents who have had previous experience with a preterm or sick baby may be helpful to parents while their baby is in NICU. With working with the NICU staff, the Veteran Parents will provide psychological and peer to peer support to parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
