Mission Statement
Welcome!
The Traverse City Film Festival is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2005, dedicated to showing "Just Great Movies" that both entertain and enlighten the audience. The festival is committed to helping save one of America’s few indigenous art forms: the cinema.
Traverse City's historic State Theatre was renovated and reborn as a year-round, community-based, volunteer-run arthouse movie theater in 2007 and has been bringing great movies to downtown Traverse City ever since, all with the help of a dedicated volunteer core.
