Volunteer Activity Instructor - Markham Buttonville Mon Sheong Court
Mon Sheong Court is dedicated to creating a warm, safe, and caring community by providing a more active, independent lifestyle for seniors. The Volunteer Activity Instructor is responsible for planning, leading, and facilitating structured recreational, educational, cultural, or wellness activities for seniors.
Time: Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
No. of Hours: 1-2 hrs/Week
Location: 115 Apple Creek Blvd., Markham, ON L3R 6C9
Duties:
- Plan and deliver group activities
- Ensure activities are engaging, inclusive, and culturally appropriate
- Encourage participation and foster a positive group environment
- Follow all Mon Sheong volunteer policies, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteer coordinators
Requirement:
- Minimum age requirement 18+
- Regular commitment required
- Ability to speak in Cantonese or Mandarin
- Comfortable working with seniors
- Experience in teaching, coaching, tutoring, recreation, arts, or community programs
- CPR/First Aid certification (asset)
