Cakes & Cookies Campaign

This campaign typically runs from October until the first or second week of December.

Going into the holiday season, the Hamilton-Halton Chapter offers products to the general public that are ideal for gift-giving, including:

  • Fruit cakes,
  • Mixed nut trays,
  • Fudge,
  • Truffles, and
  • A variety of gift baskets.

During this campaign, orders are accepted until the deadline (usually the end of November).

Once the products are received, they are then separated based on every individual's order. They're then either delivered or set aside for pick-up.

The responsibilities of the volunteer include:

  • Completing all applicable training and forms including a vulnerable sector check
  • Complying with the MS Society and care centre’s policies, procedures and protocols
  • Providing friendly visiting to a resident at least once per month
  • Tracking activity and follow up with the program coordinator on a monthly basis or as agreed
  • Communicating urgent needs and issues immediately to the program coordinator and/or the long term care centre
