3.1 Tree planting, seed collection and tree Nursery work - Bye Wood Tree Planting Sat 15th Jan 2022

Around 100,000 – 150,000 trees will need to be planted per year on Exmoor for the next 25 years as part of a national drive to increase tree cover. At Bye Wood near Winsford, over 12 hectares of woodland are being planted with 13,000 trees. It is ENPA's biggest woodland creation project in over 15 years.

With help from volunteers we've made a great start and are holding another planting day at Bye Wood on Saturday 19th February 2022.

There’s plenty of space on site to spread out and enough trees and guards to keep us occupied for the day!

Meet at Winsford Car Park at 10:00am, from where we'll walk the 30 mins up to the site. https://www.google.com/maps/@51.1040025,-3.5654721,17.25z

  • A packed lunch
  • Warm waterproof clothing & wear sturdy boots.

We’ll aim to finish around 15:00.

If you're already registered as a volunteer with us, the simplest way is to sign up is via via your calendar list.

For anyone who's not volunteered with us before, please email us at getinvolved@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk with your name and contact number and we'll add you to the list.
