Burrows Center - Thanksgiving in a Box: A Community Giving Initiative

This holiday season, we invite you to take part in our "Thanksgiving in a Box" initiative by creating and donating your holiday meal boxes! This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals and families to come together and spread joy to those in need in our community.

How It Works:

  1. Gather Your Supplies: Create a festive box filled with essential items for a Thanksgiving meal. Suggested items include canned vegetables, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, boxed potatoes, and dessert mixes. Kick it up a notch by adding staples that are hard to come by in the pantry like cooking oil or seasonings.
  2. Personalize Your Box: Feel free to add a handwritten note or a recipe card to make it even more meaningful. A little kindness goes a long way!
  3. Drop Off Your Box: Bring your completed boxes to The Salvation Army Burrows Center, 6101 NW Radial HWY. Omaha, NE between 9a and 4p, M-F, Attn: Tiffanie McCowin. by November 18th. We’ll ensure they reach families who need them most.

Why Participate? Your involvement not only helps provide a holiday meal but also fosters a sense of community and connection. Together, we can make a significant impact and show our neighbors that they are not alone during this special time of year.

Make sure to share some details with us about your creations via wstvolunteers@usc.salvationarmy.org. Not only can we offer volunteer time for these contributions, but we like to boast about the generosity in this community. Thank you for making Thanksgiving a little brighter for everyone! Thank you for your generosity and spirit of giving!
