The Salvation Army - Omaha Division HQ

We have a summer volunteer opportunities that you or a group may be interested in. The Salvation Army  camp in Sarpy County is used in the summer months to host camps for children. This spring, when the grass begins to appear again, we are looking for volunteer mowers. We have all the equipment and need people who can operate a riding lawn mower.  (Volunteers must 19 years and older). We can work out times/dates because our camp director lives on site.  We are looking for weekly or monthly mowing teams and have some other landscaping needs at camp for those who do not want to mow.  We are guessing that it would take a few hours to mow.
Summer Volunteer openings on our Kids Cruisin Kitchen Canteens! This is an Opportunity to provide your talents to feed children in need during the summer. This year minors 14-18 may volunteer with parent or guardian. Volunteer for one day or more! If you work for a company that encourages you to volunteer, we would love to have your help!  Two Disaster Unit Canteens will be used again this year (mobile feeding units). We will need two volunteer servers on each canteen. We still have many dates available for 2 volunteers to ride together. There will be a driver and site supervisor on board with you. The program starts May 29th- August 10th. (Monday-Friday). We will not be serving on July 4th. All volunteers should plan to arrive at 9:00 am and you will return at 2:30 pm. (Old Mill Location).
Back to School Backpack Distribution will take place on Friday and Saturday August 10th and 11th. 9-noon and 1-4 at 38th and Cuming, Kroc Center 27th and Y and North Corps 24th and Pratt. Volunteers are needed to register families to receive the back to school supplies.

Please email: Kay_Weinstein@usc.salvationarmy.org or call 402-898-6000 and get your dates now.
