Event Helper Open Streets 2017

Help deliver four fun and safe Open Streets events this summer in UpTown Waterloo: on Sunday August 20 or Sunday September 17. Assist with activity set-up or takedown, and running activities, and/or provide information to participants.  Support a great community event and meeting a diversity of new people!

Event Assistants must be mobile and fit for outdoor activity in all types of weather.  We are seeking responsible, reliable adults and teens. 

Volunteers under 18 need parent consent to volunteer. 

Minimum age for Customer Service is 14 with direct supervision of parent or adult

Minimum age for Set-up/ Tear-down is 16. 

Must wear closed footwear.  Workboots for set-up / tear-down recommended.

Mission Statement

Join us as a volunteer to help bring another great event to the community!

Open Streets is a celebration of active transportation in UpTown Waterloo.  Travel along the Laurel Creek Trail and explore different types of activity along the trail featuring music, art, a marketplace and more.

Four fun-filled Sundays in 2017 - June 18, July 16, August 20 and September 17. 

Volunteer shifts are:

Customer Service - 12 to 5pm - For safety reasons volunteers must wear closed toe shoes (ie. running shoe)

Set-Up - 10am to 1pm (involves lifting / carrying up to 30 pounds plus customer service and workboots are recommended during set up)

Tear-Down - 5 to 7pm (involves lifting / carrying up to 30 pounds plus customer service and workboots are recommended during tear down)
